“Queremos as ondas do Ar!”

We want the airwaves
“We Want the Airwaves!” is a campaign film for freedom in telecommunications.

in a conceptual way, the film questions the monopoly of the state and its authority to grant permission to broadcast telecommunications. it points out alternative television and radio experiences that propose new relationships through greater democratization of the means of expression, communication, information: radio patrol (free radio from the city of santo andré in são paulo), tv viva (community television from olinda in pernambuco) and radio venceremos (free radio of the guerrillas of el salvador that was in charge of broadcasting during the civil war).

on the soundtrack, musical references on radio such as “radio 4” by the english band public image limited, the aggressive rock of the ramones (we want the air waves), the brazilian punk rock of the band garotos podres (anarquia oi) and cólera (vivo na cidade and nabro 3).

as a counterpoint throughout the film, we see the action of dentel (national department of telecommunications, the federal agency that regulates and supervises all telecommunications emissions in brazil), which tracks pirate waves to suppress them.

“Family Story”
It’s Friday night. Pedro and Anastácia are at home, like millions of other couples from São Paulo. Locked in the living room of their apartment, Pedro and Anastácia’s relationship finds an opportunity to reveal its degree of disengagement. Family History portrays everyday banality and contemporary affective malaise.

“Living the Life”

CLEMSON is a smart office boy, used to “saving” the money he receives to do his taxi tasks: with these “extras” he can go to nightclubs, play arcades, buy sneakers, etc.

LIVING LIFE tells the story of this “boy’s” daily life, full of queues, waiting, tricks, music and people.

CLEMSON’s behavior ends up reflecting the attitude of most Brazilians who always find ways out of the tangent.

“POEM: CITY” is a framing of the work of the concrete poet AUGUSTO DE CAMPOS. The film translates the rapid and fragmented communication of modern urban man through his immediate senses of capture: seeing/hearing. The film also features musicians JOHN CAGE and CID CAMPOS, poets HAROLDO DE CAMPOS and DÉCIO PIGNATARI, critic J. JOTA DE MORAES, dancer MERCE CUNNINGHAM, and works by artist FIAMINGHI.

The World of Ulim and Oilut (2011)

Milu, a 6-year-old girl, is on vacation. This does not mean fun, because she has to stay alone at home while her mother works. Tulio, a mysterious boy, invites her to play some games. Their fantasies gradually take over the reality that surrounds them.

Gods’ Carnival (2010)

Jacob, Mairun and João are all 6-year-old kids. They are making themselves costumes for the school Carnival party. Ana is not participating in the activity, because she believes that Carnival festivities are a sin. This situation causes astonishment among the friends that start a chat about their different religious backgrounds. They come to the conclusion that all Gods are welcome at the Carnival party.
